The boxed CDROM versions of dtSearch 6.05 Desktop, Network, Publish, Web and Engine are now in UK stock
Desktop and Network products now includes option to change the fonts in the Search dialog box, improved and simpler Index Library Manager. Outlook Express 5/6 (*.dbx) message store indexing (including attachments), more responsive switching between files when a long file is being opened and a new unindexed Search for List of Words facility.

dtSearch Desktop/Network FR now in UK stock!
A French version of dtSearch Desktop and Network is now shipping. dtSearch Web, Publish and Engine will be available shortly. These all incorporate bi-lingual French/English stemming rules so that documents in French as well as English can be found more effectively. ViBAT Conference. Frankfurt. Germany 26-27th February
Scott Barker is speaking at the ViBAT (Visual Basic for Applications Tage). His presentation on 27th February is going to discuss SQL and the dtSearch Engine. Scott is the author of several books on Access and is a popular speaker at conferences and training programmes. During his two years at Microsoft, Scott was a member of the Microsoft Access and Foxpro teams. He was a Contributing Editor for two years for Access/Visual Basic Advisor magazine, and currently writes articles for them. He has also written for Database Advisor Magazine, Smart Access, and Informant's Microsoft Office and VBA Developer magazine dtSearch - ViBAT flyer (PDF).

D T Software, Inc. the developer and publisher of dtSearch has now been renamed, in future it will be known as dtSearch Corporation. The change of name reflects the company's total focus on the dtSearch range of text retrieval products. dtSearch products for end-users range from the powerful dtSearch 5.2 Desktop version for personal research use, through the LAN version to dtSearch WEB for use on Intranets. dtSearch technology is also available for developers to incorporate into their own products in the form of the 'engine' - a number of specialised DLL's for indexing and searching a wide range of data on the Windows 95, 98, NT, CE & 2000 platforms. The 'engine' is at the heart of over half-a-million commercial applications world-wide.

New dtSearch Web ASP demonstration!
Search the 569 Megabytes of electronic files of the Gutenberg Project at Carnegie Mellon University.  Includes literary works (Shakespeare, etc.), political documents, etc.

This demonstrates dtSearch Web running as an Active Server Pages(ASP) application.   The search interface is similar to dtSearch Web but also provides a new "show hits" file viewing option that displays only the hits in a file with about 30 words of context.
